AGRICULTURE APPLICATIONS
Introduction to TLC Products, Inc. and Advanced Ag
TLC Products was incorporated in January 1996, and has been a leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of live bacterial products for lake and pond treatment, improved wastewater treatment, commercial aquaculture and agriculture. Eco Scientific, Inc. (ESI) has been associated with TLC since 1999, initially in working with wastewater treatment projects, and has benefitted greatly over the years as TLC expanded their bacterial product development and markets throughout the world.
Amongst all TLC distributors, Advanced Ag has led the way in conducting research and opening large agricultural markets. TLC and Advanced Ag partner to open and optimize results in new agricultural markets. This partnership brings TLC’s manufacturing expertise together with Advanced Ag’s extensive application knowledge. New distributors need both TLC and Advanced Ag input to ensure commercial success, and this partnership is designed to ensure your success and ours.
Advanced Ag is a Canadian company with over 20 years of leading-edge experience in culturing specific bacterial species for a range of applications. Their proprietary edge allows them to selectively grow, stabilize and blend individual strains of bacteria into biologically active products to promote soil and crop health.
Advanced Ag is a division of Advanced Water Technologies Inc. (AWT). AWT is an award-winning company with a mission to develop a team of innovative, inspired thinkers, creating a sustainable shift in the agriculture and water industries.
Agriculture is the mainstay of the Canadian economy and Advanced AG believes promoting sustainable farming through natural processes is crucial to the longevity of the industry.
Overview of Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria
Plant Growth Promotion is about improved yield of the target crop, with equal or better nutritional value and other crop parameters (brix, protein, uniformity of size, etc.).
ACF-SR is a specialized bacterial formulation that has been very effective in improving soil functions so that existing soil nutrients are more available in the rhizosphere, thus improving crop production and overall plant health, and reducing the need for fertilizers. ACF-SR is Organic Materials Review Institute listed and may be used in certified organic production or food processing and handling according to the USDA National Organic Program regulations. ACF-SR technology has been very successful in agricultural applications throughout the world and has recently been made available for distribution in the USA. The product can be diluted with water for ease of application, applied as closely as possible to the root zone or seeds.
Nematodes and fungal infections reduce crop yield, and typically require application of harsh and environmentally damaging nematicides and fungicides to prevent crop loss. TLC is introducing a new, non-toxic biopesticide with proven efficacy against a variety of nematodes and fungal infestations, all while adding plant growth promoting functions at the same time. This new product, Chitatrol, has been awarded select patents and is patent pending in many jurisdictions around the world.
Ready to use product (ACF-SR) is packaged in 1-gallon bottles, 5 gallon pails, 55 gallon drums, and 275 gallon totes. Ready To Use ACF-SR has a two-year shelf life. Of course, product labels include measure units appropriate for the local standards.
Depending on the crop, the crop value, and soil specifics, a dose 1 to 6 gallons per acre per growing season is typically applied to land farming.
In greenhouses, 25 to 75 ml per square meter are applied per growing season.
Small organic farms, turf projects, and other fields that are less than 100 acres in surface area, along with greenhouse and hydroponic systems, typically use ready to use ACF-SR.
Larger farms (up to many thousands of acres) may require use of the BrewTus automated bioreactor for economy of scale and ease of application.
To use the BrewTus, the ACF-SR kit is blended with water, and aerated according to directions for 72 hours. The final brew is ready for field application, and will typically be applied immediately post-brew if possible, or up to 14 days after brew completion when weather or labor conflict with application procedures. If conditions cause a longer than expected delay in application after a brew is complete (greater than 14 days), standard procedures are in place to revitalize the brew prior to crop application.
